The meaning of this piece is to bring awareness to some of the Black women in my family. Echinacea survives harsh winters and comes back in the spring thriving! Like some of the women I know overcoming their hardships and coming out of it stronger than ever, I wanted to capture that. Like a sun shining on her as she welcomes a new day. My hope is that you connect with this piece, and feel the warmth of the rising sun.
